|Contractor||- Douch Partners Ltd|This house is a conversion of part of a redundant farm building and has been designed to meet AECB silver standard for thermal performance and includes a biomass boiler. The site lies outside the development boundary within the AONB and planning consent was granted on the basis of a combination of factors including sustainability credentials, the clients agricultural commitments, high design standards and the local authority’s trust that the underlying principles of the project would be delivered.
Construction comprises a bespoke Douglas Fir frame, timber ‘I’ beams, wood fibre insulation, local chestnut rainscreen cladding and natural lime render. The roof is predominantly sedum.
